Why it matters

Most managers are promoted because they excel in their technical roles - not because they’ve been trained to lead people. Yet leaders are immediately expected to:

Nearly 60% of new managers receive little to no training, despite being responsible for the factors that most influence team engagement and productivity. And according to Gallup, 70% of team engagement is determined by the manager. In other words: managers are the employee experience.

This gap between expectations and preparation is one of the most costly challenges organisations face and one of that can be transformed with the right support. 

That’s why I built this platform: to transform everyday managers into SuperManagers who unlock the full potential of their people.

Drawing on nearly a decade leading complex healthcare programs and teams of 120+, I’ve built a leadership development approach that focuses on what truly moves the needle: practical coaching skills that managers can use immediately.

I design experiential, cohort‑based programs that ensure learning sticks AND translates into measurable behaviour change.

I'm Lilian T Mubangizi

Leadership Educator&  Founder SuperManager Academy

I started the SuperManager Academy after spending nearly a decade leading complex healthcare, academic and humanitarian programs across North America and Africa. My career has taken me into busy clinics, refugee camps, community programs, and high‑pressure operational environments and everywhere I went, I saw the same thing:

Brilliant, committed people stepping into leadership roles without the support they needed to succeed.

I know that feeling personally.
I’ve been the new leader trying to manage competing priorities.
I’ve been the person responsible for 100+ people, wishing I had a roadmap.
And I’ve watched talented colleagues struggle not because they lacked potential, but because no one had ever taught them how to lead people.

That’s why I do this work.

I’m trained as an Epidemiologist (MPH) and certified as a Leadership & Performance Coach, and I bring both the data‑driven and human‑centred sides of leadership into every program. My approach blends evidence, lived experience, and a deep belief that people thrive when their leaders truly see them.

Today, I partner with organisations to equip their managers with practical coaching skills, emotional intelligence, and the confidence to lead with clarity and compassion. I understand the realities of frontline execution, large-scale operations, and the pressures managers face and I design programs that honour those realities.

Outside of my work with organisations, I care deeply about expanding access to leadership education. I spend much of my time supporting initiatives that bring foundational leadership skills to under-resourced communities, because I believe leadership should be a possibility for everyone, not just those with access or privilege.

At my core, I’m driven by one belief:
When we grow better leaders, we create workplaces where people feel valued, supported, and inspired to do their best work.
